Work we do

Summer Maintenance

As we move into the spring equinox, work is already well underway in our parks and gardens, preparing for Torbay’s busy summer season.

This year, we have given great thought to the colour of our planting and how colours affect how we feel. To that end, Torquay and Brixham will be ablaze with oranges, reds and yellows while Paignton will bathe in a riot of colour, featuring oranges, reds, yellows, purples and pinks.

And if you are curious as to what each colour represents, here’s a brief synopsis:

  • Red is traditionally associated with love

  • Orange signifies optimism, warmth and enthusiasm

  • Yellow fills us with hope, happiness and sunshine

  • Purple denotes creativity, pride and dignity

  • Pink provides comfort, warmth and hope

We think you’ll agree that these descriptors sum up our Bay beautifully. We hope you enjoy the end result as much as we have enjoyed bringing this delightful selection together!
